No clock ticking
Time-limited access means you practise while the account is active, not when you have time. With Matrix Reasoning Trainer you start today and carry on when the test actually comes.

Before the logic test you can pay by the month, by the week or by the package. Or pay once, for tasks that never run out and explanations that say which rule you missed.

Swedish prices. iPrep charges in US dollars and is in the table above.
A test rarely comes when it suits you. The time you paid for should not run out when it doesn't.
Time-limited access means you practise while the account is active, not when you have time. With Matrix Reasoning Trainer you start today and carry on when the test actually comes.
A subscription runs until you stop it. After three months SquidFactor has cost 1,032 SEK. Matrix Reasoning Trainer is 199 SEK in Sweden, paid and done.
Most people apply for more than one job. The app stays, your level and history are kept, and before the next test you carry on where you left off.
A question bank runs out. The rules don't.
Do the same questions twice and you recognise the answers, which trains your memory. Here every task is created when you open it, so you practise the patterns the test is built on.
Every task is checked before it is shown: one option meets every rule, the other five break at least one. The same check runs over tens of thousands of tasks before every release.
Not "the number changes", but "the number grows by one figure to the right". The app also shows which rule types you miss most, so you know what to practise.
Top rated on the App Store
People who trained with the app raised their level by two steps on average from their first test to their latest.
Two levels on a test like this can be the difference between moving on in the hiring process and getting the job, or being screened out.
Got the job. After a couple of hours of practice I felt really confident.
The easiest app I tried. Nice not to need a subscription.
I could see which principles I had missed and learn them.
Five tasks here, with the same explanations as in the app.

If you also face verbal or numerical tests, or want video lessons, SquidFactor, JobTestPrep and Test The Talent cover more than we do.
Matrix Reasoning Trainer does one thing: the matrix tasks in the logic part, which tests such as Alva Labs and Matrigma are built on. It does it on the phone, with no account, for one payment.
The app is for iPhone. On an Android phone the tasks on this site work, but the app does not.
Facts about the other services come from their own sites: squidfactor.se, jobtestprep.se, testttalent.se and iprep.online, read on 5 November 2026, and may have changed. Matrix Reasoning Trainer is independent and has no connection to any of the services or to the test publishers. The names are trademarks of their owners.
It depends on what your test includes. If it is the logic part, the matrix tasks, Matrix Reasoning Trainer practises exactly that, with no time limit on access and for one payment. If verbal and numerical parts are included too, a broader service covers more.
After the first month already: SquidFactor costs 344 SEK a month and Matrix Reasoning Trainer 199 SEK once in Sweden. The longer you practise, the bigger the difference.
A bank has an end, and the answers can be recognised. Generated tasks never run out and are checked one by one, so that exactly one option is right.
No. The app is independent and the tasks are our own.
Five practice tasks with answers are free. The rest is unlocked with a one-time purchase: pay once, no monthly fee like elsewhere. No login, no ads. Your results stay on the phone.

What the format is, how to approach a task, and answers to what people usually ask.
A matrix reasoning test, often called a logic test, abstract reasoning test or aptitude test, measures the ability to see patterns in figures. Each task is a grid of three by three cells. Eight of them contain figures that follow one or more rules, and the ninth is missing. The task is to find the rules and choose the option that fits the empty cell.
The rules hold in both rows and columns and govern different parts of the figure: shape, number, size, fill, direction, lines at the edge or a dot that moves. The easiest tasks have one rule. The hardest have three or four at once, and the options differ in one detail only.
The format is common in recruitment, as part of the screening before interviews, and it can be practised. Someone who has seen the format before loses no time working out the task and goes in calmer. More is on the pages What is a matrix reasoning test and Logical reasoning tests in recruitment.
The format settles in after a few days. What matters is having seen every rule type and having done a few tasks against the clock. A few focused sessions give more than weeks of scattered practice.
Practice makes a difference on this type of task. Someone who knows the format does not have to learn it during the test, makes fewer careless mistakes and uses the time better. Nobody can promise a result, and the level in the app is the app's own scale.
The words are used interchangeably. Aptitude test is the broad term for tests that measure thinking. Logic test is the part about patterns and inference. Matrix test is the format: a grid of three by three figures with one cell missing.
The app has eighteen rule types: step by step change, three values distributed, constant, patterns combined, patterns cancelling out, patterns in common, arithmetic on the number, movement along a path, mirroring, rotation of the whole cell, nested figures, number of sides, degree of fill, conditional rule, covariation, slot by slot combination, growing step and turn and change in the cross. The answer tells you which ones applied in each task. Every rule has a page of its own with a solved example.
Yes. The Alva Labs logic test is built on matrix tasks of the same kind: three by three figures, one cell missing, rising difficulty. Matrix Reasoning Trainer is independent and has no connection to Alva Labs. More about the format is under Good preparation for the Alva Labs logic test.
Five practice tasks are free. The rest is unlocked with a one-time purchase, no subscription. The price is shown in the App Store.
Results and statistics stay on the phone. The app has no accounts and no ads. It sends anonymous usage statistics, which you can turn off. This website uses no cookies and no tracking. See the privacy policy.
